  • Gauze Rolls – 3”, 4”: bandage intermediate layer
  • Gauze Sponges – 4×4, sterile, wound contact layer
  • Cotton cast pad roll – 3”: bandage intermediate layer
  • Gloves – non-sterile, Nitrile hypoallergenic
  • Q-Tips – clean ears; apply styptic powder
  • Tape – 1” cloth, easy tear
  • Tongue Depressors

Treatments

  • Antibiotic Ointment – Triple Ab, individual packs
  • Eye Irrigation Solution – gentle stream, eyes & wounds
  • Hemostasis Agent – Celox,     QuikClot
  • Hydration Powders – Hydrolyte, K-9 Quencher
  • Antimicrobial Wipes–betadine/chlorhex; cleanse wounds
  • Sam Splint – cuttable, malleable: extra limb support
  • Lubricant – Surgilube, sterile: lubricate thermometer
  • Skin Glue – Med Bond: use gloves to apply
  • Skin Staples – 35 Wide: may hurt a bit
  • Styptic Powder – Kwik Stop, less sting: use moist Q-tip

Other Recommendations/Options

  • Antacid of choice – Prilosec 0.5-1 mg/kg once/day or Zantac 0.5-2 mg/kg twice/day
  • Diphenhydramine – Benadryl 2-4 mg/kg or 1-2 mg/#50-100 mg tablet per 50 # dog
  • Endotracheal tube – sized for your dog
  • Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory of choice
  • Personal Medications – 3 week supply
