When Nuno, an Iberian lynx, decides to escape his endangered life in the bush of eastern Portugal, he discovers southern California, where rabbits are large, slow and numerous. He boards a steamboat, where he meets Figo, a ship rat street by street. Figo introduces him to the different exotic cultures, music and cuisines of the ports they visit along the way. In May 2008, Japan appointed Hello Kitty as Japanese tourism ambassador to China and Hong Kong (where the character is exceptionally popular with children and young women), which was the first time the Japanese Ministry of Tourism had nominated a fictional character for the role.  Sharon Kinsella, a senior lecturer in Japanese sociology at Oxford University, called Hello Kitty`s selection “a bit grotesque. as if it were a dumb cultural icon. can somehow do something important to change the gnarled and difficult state of Sino-Japanese relations.  Musician Yoshiki unveiled Hello Kitty`s theme song “Hello Hello” in November 2014 at the premiere of Hello Kitty Con. Yoshiki, who was the first celebrity to have her own Hello Kitty doll “Yoshikitty”, was approached by Yamaguchi seven years earlier to compose the song. Yoshiki dedicated the hymn to Tsuji Kunihiko, the son of Sanrio founder Shintaro Kunihiko.
 Mercis, the company that managed Bruna`s copyright, sued Sanrio for his character associated with Hello Kitty, Cathy, a rabbit who first appeared in 1976 and who, according to Mercis, infringed Miffy`s copyright. An Amsterdam court ruled in favour of Mercis in November 2010 and ordered Sanrio to stop producing and selling goods with Cathy in the Benelux. However, in June 2011, the two companies announced that they had reached a settlement agreement to end their litigation. Sanrio stopped using Cathy`s character and the two companies jointly donated €150,000 for reconstruction after the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami.  In 1962, Shintaro Tsuji, the founder of Sanrio, began selling rubber sandals with flowers painted on them.  Tsuji noticed the profits made by adding a nice design to the shoes and hired designers to create cute characters for his products.  The company produced a range of character products focused on gifts.  Hello Kitty was designed by Yuko Shimizu and added to Sanrio`s first character series in 1974.  The first appearance of the figure on an object took place in March 1975 at a vinyl coin fair sold in Japan, where she was depicted sitting between a bottle of milk and a bowl of goldfish.    It first appeared in the United States in 1976, when Sanrio opened a Gift Gate store in San Jose, California.   Years: There was a dog named Bruno and a cat named Kitty.
They were best friends. Overseas, their global popularity has increased over the years, with annual global sales reaching $8 billion in 2013.  She has been particularly popular for decades in other Asian countries, such as China, where her cultural influence is comparable to barbie`s in the Western world.  In the United States, starting in 2016, it will be recognized by more than 80% of young adults aged 18 to 23.  and: Mr. Kitty climbed a tree because Bruno was chasing her. In 2008, a Hello Kitty-themed maternity hospital was opened in Yuanlin, Taiwan. Hello Kitty can be seen on reception blankets, room furniture, bed linen, birth certificate blankets and nurses` uniforms. The hospital owner explained that he hoped the subject would help relieve the stress of childbirth.   UNICEF also awarded Hello Kitty the exclusive title of UNICEF Special Friend of Children.   Sanrio began streaming the latest 2D animated series Hello Kitty and Friends Supercute Adventures on YouTube on October 26, 2020.
 Sanrio`s spokespersons confirmed that Hello Kitty doesn`t have a mouth because they want people to “project their feelings onto the character” and “be happy or sad with Hello Kitty.”   Another explanation Sanrio gave for Hello Kitty`s lack of mouth is that she “speaks from the heart. She is Sanrio`s ambassador to the world and is not tied to any particular language.  Sanrio representatives said they see Hello Kitty as a symbol of friendship they hope to foster between people around the world.  There has been speculation that Hello Kitty originated in Maneki Neko – the name “Hello Kitty” is a translation of Maneki Neko, which means “restless cat” in English. Nevertheless, no definitive statement supports this speculation.  Hello Kitty and Mimi celebrated their 40th birthday on November 1, 2014. The “Arigato Everyone Birthday Celebration” took place for several days in Sanrio Puroland in Tokyo.  A four-day convention, Hello Kitty Con, was also held in Los Angeles to celebrate the anniversary. The convention attracted more than 25,000 fans.  In 2009, Tom Sachs` bronze collection was exhibited in the lever house public art space in Manhattan, as well as at the Baldwin Gallery in Aspen, Colorado, and at the Trocadero in Paris. The collection featured white bronze casts of a Moss-core Hello Kitty sculpture – a style characteristic of the artist. Since April 2010, the sculpture Wind-Up Hello Kitty is still on display at Lever House.
 Although Sachs did not seek permission to use the character in his work, a brand marketing manager for Sanrio reportedly said, “You know, there was Marilyn Monroe and Andy Warhol, then Michael Jackson and Jeff Koons. If you`re an icon, that`s exactly what happens.  Hello Kitty appeared as a guest character in Sega`s Sonic Dash in 2016 as part of Sega`s partnership with Sanrio. Hello Kitty and My Melody (another Sanrio character) appeared together in Super Mario Maker as unlockable Mystery Mushroom costumes. Hello Kitty appears as a playable character via downloadable content in Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania.  If two nouns are associated with the conjunction, use a plural pronoun. If they are connected by or or ni, use a singular pronoun. In January 2018, Puma partnered with Hello Kitty to develop the new Puma X Hello Kitty For All Time collection, which incorporates the company`s signature sneakers for children and adults.
  Hello Kitty sold well immediately after its launch in 1975, and Sanrio`s sales increased sevenfold.   Due to the growth of the Japanese economy, many Japanese children could afford to buy Hello Kitty products. Their popularity has also been attributed to the emergence of kawaii culture, which includes cuteness.  There is a themed restaurant called Hello Kitty Sweets in Taipei, Taiwan, which opened in 2008. The restaurant`s décor and many of its dishes are inspired by the characters in Hello Kitty.   Another restaurant called Hello Kitty Diner opened in the Chatswood neighborhood of Sydney, Australia, and a Hello Kitty Dim Sum restaurant opened in Kowloon, Hong Kong.  There were several different Hello Kitty TV series. The first animated television series was Hello Kitty`s Furry Tale Theater, a 13-episode animated series that aired in 1987.  The next one, an OVA titled Hello Kitty and Friends, was released in 1993 and also lasted 13 episodes. Hello Kitty`s Paradise was released in 1999 and had 16 episodes. Hello Kitty`s Stump Village was released in 2005, and The Adventures of Hello Kitty & Friends was released in 2006 and aired 52 episodes.
A crossover series called Kiss Hello Kitty (which paired animated versions of the members of the rock band KISS with Hello Kitty) was announced in March 2013. .
